There is so much to see and do within a short distance of our restaurant you will be spoilt for choice during your stay with us. From the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge to Salisbury Cathedral with it’s tallest spire in England.


The Fonthill Estate 

Stroll through the impressive stone archway to see the peaceful Fonthill Estate Lake which is set in 10,000 acres of farmland and which was the location for the film ‘Chocolat’. Also learn about the remarkable history of William Beckford’s Fonthill Abbey.


Local Walks

There lots of opportunities for walking in the local area including a 6 mile route around the Fonthill Estate. We are happy to share with you our favourite walks  including pushchair friendly and dog friendly walks.

Places to Visit

National Trust Properties near by include Stourhead House and Gardens, Dinton Park and Philipps House

English Heritage properties include Old Wardour Castle which is 5 miles away and is where ‘Robin Hood Prince of Thieves’ was also filmed. The famous White Horse and Bratton Camp, Old Sarum and Nunney Castle are all less than 15 miles away.

Nearby Towns include Salisbury 30 mins, Shaftesbury 20 mins, Bath 50 minutes and Winchester 55 minutes drive.
